Airbus Group moves to BlackBerry 10 smartphones
Feb 25, 2014
Paris, France – February 24, 2014 - BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB), a world leader in mobile communications, today announced that Airbus Group, a global pioneer in Aeronautics, Space and Defense-related Services, has chosen to re-affirm its trust in the security and reliability of the BlackBerry® platform by upgrading its entire BlackBerry mobile fleet to BlackBerry® 10 smartphones. This decision by Airbus Group was made after several months of testing and comparing BlackBerry’s enterprise mobility solution with other offerings on the market. The Group is also migrating to BlackBerry’s Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution – BlackBerry® Enterprise Service 10 (BES10).
With BES 10 and BlackBerry® Balance™ technology, Airbus Group delivers to its employees the best possible user experience for both business and personal use on one device, while securing critical content and applications. The endorsement by Airbus Group demonstrates that BES 10 perfectly answered their requirements, providing a comprehensive enterprise applications portfolio in a complete end-to-end secured mobile solution, and fully integrated with existing IT systems.
According to Hervé Liboureau, Managing Director for Central and Western Europe at BlackBerry, “Our customers recognize the value that BlackBerry 10 solutions bring to meet the needs of an increasingly mobile workforce and the sensitive nature of data shared across terminals and platforms – requiring the best end-to-end security technology. Organizations continue to choose BlackBerry because it is the most proven and trusted enterprise mobility management solution, supporting iOS, Android and BlackBerry smartphones.”
To date, customers have installed more than 30,000 BES10 commercial and test servers around the world. In France, more than 60 percent of the CAC 40 companies (the 40 companies with the most significant value among the 100 highest market caps on the Paris Bourse) have ordered, downloaded or installed BES10.
